Review By Michelle
Fancy checking out some of Andy Warhol’s famous paintings or having a browse at some of the other funky paintings or designs on display. The Tate Modern is yet another one of Britians FREE museums and also makes for a good day out as it’s situated right along side the Thames next to the Millenium Bridge. With loads of pubs around where you can grab a good meal and drink and then take a walk along the Southbank.
My experience
I am not the biggest fan of museums but on a rainy day off work in London wanting to do something for free I was wondering along the Southbank and bout of rain had me rushing into the Tate Modern. The paintings are actually quite cool-my favourite being Andy Warhol’s Maryiln Munroe. The museum also houses some other obsecure artists be sure to check out some of Picasso’s pieces. Most of the pieces are quite abstract and absurd and can be taken any way really.
Not knowing much about art I actually ended up spending longer inside than I first thought the rain had stopped and I was still in there looking at the funky paintings and quirky designs. There is plenty to keep all ages entertained.
Hot Tip
Make the effort to climb to the top of building from level 7 you will get the most amazing veiws of the city including the Thames, St Pauls and the Millenuem Bridge and Tower Bridge in the distance.
Getting There
The Gallery is easily accesed by a few tube stations with St Pauls or Southbank being the closest. Then it’s just a short walk from both stations.
