Visit 'vibrant' Trafalgar Square while in London

Considered by many to be one of the most vibrant open areas in London, Trafalgar Square can be found right at the heart of the UK’s capital.

It is home to the famous Nelson’s Column statue and is also surrounded by historical buildings such as the National Gallery, which help to give the city its charm and cultural status.

According to the official government website on the square, there are also events catering for younger, more adventurous tourists taking place, such as the Trafalgar Square festival which features all manner of street artists and performers.

And for anyone visiting the city over the holiday period, what better way to get a traditional feel of the festivities in London than with the Norwegian spruce Christmas tree given by Norway every year since 1947.

Nelson’s Column was designed in honour of Admiral Nelson and his victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Standing five metres high on a bronze platform it is one of Trafalgar Square’s most famous landmarks.
