London has long been known as one of the shopping capitals of the world, with various areas of the city catering to all kinds of retail therapy needs.
But perhaps the most famous of all the places to indulge is Knightsbridge, home to the legendary Harrods.
One of the world’s largest department stores, it is spread over seven floors and welcomes 15 million visitors each year.
And it is worth a visit even for those who are not planning to part with their cash, as there are plenty of stunning features to see – including a memorial to Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed, the late son of owner Mohammed Al Fayed.
However, those planning a trip should bear the shop’s dress code in mind, as clothing must be clean and presentable. Bags also need to be carried by hand rather than over the shoulder, in order to avoid damage to displays.
Other upmarket options in the area include Harvey Nichols, the flagship store of which is in Knightsbridge.
