Cafe Assistant

It will be your responsibility to ensure the guest of the hostel receives a 1st class experience at the Café Lounge, ensuring that our brand standards are met with a smile and a personality

Job role role:

Ensuring that the Cafe is fully stocked at all times with the required food and drink.

Selling hot and cold drinks, snacks, sandwiches and other food items sold in the cafe.

Making fresh sandwiches and salads to be sold in the café.

Preparing pastries ready to be cooked in the oven and sold in the Café.

Cash handling, taking payment from the guest and reconciliation of takings taken from the Café.

Stock take of all food produced in the Café.

Following food hygiene regulations when handing food.

Ensure appropriate food stock rotation of all items.

Ensure that the Café area is clean and tidy at all times.

Clearing any rubbish left by the guests and ensure that the tables and chairs are cleaned and presentable.

Experience required:

Have at least 12 months previous experience of working with and serving food.

Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to work in a busy environment.

Must have a good understanding of food hygiene regulations.

Be able to multi task and use own initiative.

Must enjoy working with food and be able to present the food appropriately that is sold in the Café.
