Story of the Blood Brothers

Catch one of UK’s best-loved shows

Britons who wish to catch a show that has been voted one of the best-loved in the UK may wish to be quick to book tickets for Blood Brothers.

Visitors to London can catch a performance of the play at the Phoenix Theatre in Charring Cross.

Created by Willy Russell, who also wrote Educating Rita, the musical is set in Liverpool and tells the story of two brothers who are separated at birth.

Financial troubles force their single mum to give one of her twins up for adoption.

The boys grow up in very different environments and – despite their mother’s efforts to conceal the truth of their relationship – when they meet again as men the outcome is tragic.

Songs include Tell Me It’s Not True and Bright New Day and musical lovers could be sure that they will not be leaving the venue dry-eyed.

Visitors may also enjoy catching a show at the Phoenix Theatre, which was opened in 1930, when it premiered Noel Coward’s Private Lives.
