Old Spitalfields Market is the place to go

Review by Eszter
There are actually 5 different markets to choose from here, but the oldest and most popular is Old Spitalfields Market. If you want to get away from the crowds and hassle of Oxford Street, Spitalfields is the place to go – being off the beaten track means it still has original and unique places to go and things to see.
My experience
The markets begin on Thursday, with a different theme market each day:

Thursday – Antiques & vintage
Friday – Fashion & art
Saturday – All shops, no stalls
Sunday – Definitely the busiest day – all the shops and all the stalls are open on Sundays.
My favourite day to visit is Friday, the fashion & art day – it’s less busy than Sundays but still has all the stalls and shops I find interesting! One of the best things about Spitalfields is that a lot of young and emerging designers sell their things there so you can buy things that you know no one else will have. Recently I picked up a pair of spats which I am wearing all the time!
Sunday is also a good day to visit, as it has all the stalls and shops so you can spend hours browsing a whole range of different things. There is also some great food available there with plenty of vegetarian options, so if you get tired of shopping, you can relax with a tasty meal and do some people-watching!
Directions
The nearest tube station is Liverpool Street, about a ten minute walk from the market. Click here for a map of the area.
Hot tip
Also visit one of the other markets in Spitalfields, such as Brick Lane Market.
