Review: Dirty Dancing

See Dirty Dancing at the Aldwych Theatre London

Review by Amanda

Dirty Dancing is an unprecedented live experience, exploding with heart-pounding music, breathtaking emotion and sensationally sexy dancing. Dirty Dancing live on stage!!

Seen by millions across the globe this worldwide smash-hit tells the classic story of Baby and Johnny, two fiercely independent young spirits from different worlds, who come together in what will be the most challenging and triumphant summer of their lives. Told by a tremendous cast of 37 and featuring 35 hit songs, including “Hungry Eyes”, “Hey Baby”, “Do You Love Me?” and the heart stopping “I’ve Had The Time Of My Life.”

My experience

Back in my teens this was one of my favorite films and when I heard the musical was coming to The Aldwych Theatre I was so happy. My friends and I instantly booked tickets and headed for The Strand.

A couple of drinks before entry in the in house bar to warm up the vocal cords. (The wine was cheap) and no queues. The Theatre was quite small so make sure you get seats as near as the front as possible, we were in the middle and that was fine, but any further back we wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much.

I must say what a fantastic Musical, one of the best I’ve seen in a long time, I don’t really want to say too much as you have to see this for yourself to enjoy the experience, the actors/actresses were amazing and we really did have “the time of our lives”.

A highly recommend musical to go and see.
