Tourists visiting London are likely to encounter a wide variety of cultures during their time in the capital, not least those originating from South Asian countries.
According to Tower Hamlets council, over 100,000 Sikhs have made the East End of London their home since the 1920s and this coming Saturday (April 25th) sees the annual event of Vaisakhi, which marks the beginning of the Sikh New Year.
Canary Wharf is to host a celebration in honour of the festival, with Bhangra music, food, Sikh martial arts and dance on offer to all in Cabo Square between 14:00 and 17:00 BST.
After attending, visitors may wish to head to Brick Lane, which provides a wide variety of restaurants for visitors looking to enjoy some authentic cuisine, as well as a market for bargain hunters.
Every year, the curry houses situated in the area compete in the Brick Lane Festival, which takes place every September and features food stalls, competitions and live entertainment.
