Gold Winner at this year’s Visit London awards
For the second year running Generator Hostels was voted ‘Best Budget Accommodation’ by the panel of judges during the prestigious Visit London award held at the Bloomsbury Big Top on December 8th.
The BT Visit London Award celebrates the best of tourism in the capital and besides the Outstanding Achievement award; trophies’ were awarded for People Choices and in 11 additional judged categories.
During the awards presentation, which was attended by almost 700 people from across London’s tourism industry, over £2000 was raised for Great Ormond Street Hospital and the audience was enchanted by thrilling performances of Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical, Mica Paris, Alesha Dixon and the London Community Gospel Choir amongst others.
Although the red carpet season for Hollywood is not before February, for Generator Hostels December is the month for celebration. The Generator team was ecstatic about winning the prestigious Visit London award, especially after being amongst the finalists for the British Youth Educational Award (BETA) in the same week.
Triumphantly the team took the shiny trophy home and arranged it besides the other gongs, marking a successful and rewarding year for the expanding hostel chain. With planned major openings in 2011 in Copenhagen, Dublin and Hamburg Generator Hostels is aiming for even more trophies next year.
