Kids’ festival

to kick off in London

Visitors to London may wish to bring the whole family along to an event that has been designed with kids in mind this summer.

Organised by the V&A Childhood Museum, the annual summer festival takes place on August 1st in Bethnal Green, east London

Activities on offer will include street dancing, rickshaw rides, face-painting and games. There will also be a number of performers to keep the little ones entertained, including a live music show from Tragic Roundabout. Families may enjoy browsing the many food, crafts and plants stalls to buy something to remember the day by.

The museum is so confident that people will enjoy the event, it likens it to the Notting Hill Carnival.

Elsewhere, bigger kids may be keen to attend the Underage Festival at Victoria Park, which takes place on the same day. This year’s show – which is for 14 to 18-year-olds – will see performances from Tinchy Stryder, The Courteeners, Ellie Goulding and M.I.A.
