2-16 Jul: See Buzz Aldrin at London Literature Festival

Literary fans heading to London during July may wish to check out the 2009 London Literature Festival, which is taking place at the Southbank Centre.

Running from July 2nd-16th, the event consists of a programme of internationally renowned writers, public speakers, poets and musicians, including an event featuring US astronaut Buzz Aldrin.

One of the few men to have ever set foot on the moon, Mr Aldrin will be talking to Andrew Smith, author of Moondust: In Search of the Men Who Fell to Earth, regarding his experiences in space, as well as his life back on earth following the Apollo 11 mission.

Among the other guests appearing at the two-week festival will be Sarah Waters – who is returning to the Southbank Centre to discuss her new novel The Little Stranger – along with Peter Ackroyd and Vikram Seth.

Also taking place in the capital this summer is the 2009 London International Music Show, which begins at the ExCeL centre on June 11th.
