Although this takes place on April 23rd, those wanting to celebrate St George this year may want to head to London’s Trafalgar Square on the 24th – the following Saturday – for this year’s festivities.

The popular tourist attraction will host the city’s official St George celebrations, with street performers entertaining revellers.

There will also several food stalls, allowing people the chance to sample some traditional English fare.

But the main focus of the free-to-attend festival event will be on music, with performers from local schools, the Royal Academy of Music and the Player’s Theatre set to take to the stage.

East End singer Joe Brown and his band will bring the proceedings to a close.

Other events taking place over St George’s weekend is a performance of Macbeth at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
