Spring Fun in covent Garden
Those staying in London this May could take the opportunity to enjoy a bit of nostalgia at the annual Covent Garden Punch and Judy Festival.
Part of the 35th May Fayre in the area of central London will be a series of dozens of shows by puppetry performers from across the country.
Marking the 348th birthday of Mr Punch on the 9th of the month, the event attracts crowds of visitors and starts with a street procession at 10:30 BST.
The annual celebration of the art of puppetry sees Punch and Judy shows run throughout the day in the St Paul’s churchyard.
It is held to commemorate Samuel Pepys sighting of Mr Punch in 1662 and is organised by Alternative Arts.
The same organisation is also responsible for the Jazz Plus on the Embankment open air lunchtime concerts in the Victoria Embankment Gardens of the capital between June 1st and 20th.
