Practice your pancake flipping and head to Spitalfields

Pancake Fun

London is home to many crazy events held over the course of the year, but the annual Great Spitalfields Pancake Race has to be up there with the best of them.

This year’s event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 8th March and will see competitors combine the skills of running and pancake flipping as they attempt to outdo each other on Dray Walk in the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane.

But it is not just speed and prowess with a frying pan that teams will be judged on, as there are also prizes on offer for the best-dressed entrants and tastiest pancakes.

Location

Old Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, Spitalfields E1 6QL.

Time

12.30pm

The grand prize for the winning team is a “beautifully engraved frying pan” and if you fancy having one of these take pride of place on your kitchen then get you skates on and sort out a team, as entry is free.

If you are thinking of taking part then try to sort out some sponsors, as all money raised through the event will go to charity, with all proceeds from last year’s event going to the London Air Ambulance.
