Young people flock to theatre
Families visiting London during the next two weeks may wish to take advantage of Kids Week, which is running from August 13th to September 3rd.
Now in its 13th year, the event allows parents to take advantage of the free tickets that are available to their children – aged five to 16 years old – at a variety of plays and musicals.
As long as they are accompanied by an adult paying the full price, children have the chance to see over 30 shows this year, with the organisers promising to suit all tastes.
Among these are the hit musicals Blood Brothers, Mama Mia!, Jersey Boys and Tap Dogs.
Led by actor and dancer Adam Garcia, Tap Dogs at the Novello Theatre puts a different spin on classic tap dancing and promises to be a high energy, adrenaline-charged spectacular.
Other child-friendly events taking place in the capital this summer include the A Child From Everywhere exhibition by photographer Caroline Irby.
What’s On When reports that the pictures – on display at the V&A Museum of Childhood – show one child born in every country of the world who later moved to the UK.
