The Natural History Museum
From November 4th this year, skating enthusiasts and novices will be able to try out their skills at the Natural History Museum.
A 1,050 sq m rink will be installed at the attraction until January 16th 2011 with young and old invited to step onto the ice until 10pm.
A viewing platform is established at the venue for people to watch the frozen fun, in addition to a Cafe Bar on the edge of the rink to take a break with a mulled wine or hot chocolate.
Marshals will be on hand throughout the day to ensure skating takes place safely in the museum’s gardens, while a dedicated and supervised junior rink for very young skaters is also provided.
Another attraction, Somerset House provides an elegant backdrop to skating each year, with its rink opening up from November.
Visitors to London may wish to explore indoors at the Natural History Museum during their stay, particularly as entry to the impressive main exhibits is free of charge.
