For the first time Rammstein is coming to Denmark with their new show.  This show is a celebrating of their all times greatest hits. The new show is called “Made in Germany 1995-2011″, and is a summary of the last 16 years concerts from all over Europe.

In the same time the Rammsteins is planning to publish a new album with their greatest hits and a new song there have never been published before. At this album there will also be a
video catalogue with some of the best previous concerts.

Right now Rammsteins is having a break from the tours around Australia and South Africa, which have been a huge success. After the tours around Australia and South Africa, they have been in North America and Mexico. After the tours Rammstein received the price of being the best live band, from the Revolver Golden Gold Awards.

Rammstein is well known for having a magnificent live performance with a head banging energy.

On Pancake Day (or Shrove Tuesday as it’s also known) London will be teeming with pancakes, and who doesn’t love pancakes? Across London there will be organized pancake races where contestants must race against each other flipping their pancakes whilst running. Even if you don’t want to take part these competitions are great fun to watch.

One of the organized races is the Great Spitalfields Pancake Race which will be taking place on Brick Lane at 12.30pm. There are other contests taking place at Guildhall and Cathedral Square as well as races at Victoria Tower Gardens. From these events you can expect a lot of laughs and a great turnout!

Have you ever wondered where TV magic happens? Well now you can find out with a tour of the BBC Television Centre in London. Wander through the hallowed halls with an experienced guide and get exclusive back stage access to areas such as the BBC newsroom, TV studios, weather studios, dressing rooms and the green rooms where stars wait to appear on the screen.

For liquid refreshment in the evening try the unusual Ginglik. It is situated in an old underground Edwardian public convenience (or lavatory to you and me) on Shepherd’s Bush Green and is a lush bunker venue with many famous patrons.

Enjoy a night of music at the Dream Theater Concert in Pordenone, just one hour’s drive from Venice, and join thousands of other music fans to dance and listen to some of the best performances of the band.

The great Dream Theater return with their strong album titled A Dramatic Turn Of Events, featuring “On The Backs Of Angels.” This exciting world tour will see the new drummer’s debut, Mike Mangini.

Dream Theater is well known for being one of the early progenitors of the progressive metal music. The original members, John Petrucci and John Myung have been influenced by famous bands such as Iron Maiden, Rush, Yes. Dream Theater focused mainly on metal, melody, and progressive music.

“I’m ecstatic with the way the album came out,” states James LaBrie in the band’s official website, “It’s the album we had to make. I think we’ve once again touched on what in the earlier years gave us our originality and our identity. We infused definitive styles that were predominant in our music: the progressive end and the metal end, with the melodic element pretty high up on the list of priorities.”

War Horse: Fact & Fiction is an exhibition at the National Army Museum in London. The exhibition includes exclusive content from Michael Morpurgo the author of the inspirational children’s book as well as the acclaimed West End play and Steven Spielberg film.

The story of War Horse is based around the relationship between a young farm lad and his thoroughbred colt and their trials, separation and eventual reunion throughout the period of the First World War.

The National Army Museum is on Royal Hospital Road, the nearest Underground station is Sloane Square. The exhibition is open daily and is free to enter; ask in the Generator Hostel London Travel Shop for more details.

If you are hungry after the exhibition then a few doors down is the Foxtrot Oscar which is one of Gordon Ramsay’s chain of restaurants. The food is undoubtedly some of the best in the city and is not too pricey.

Head back to Sloane Square for a drink at The Antelope on Eaton Terrace. There is traditional pub fare freshly cooked if you are peckish.

Want a way to show the world your talent? How about some karaoke? It is great fun both for the audience and performers. Every night at Peadar Kearney’s on Dame Street, Dublin is karaoke night from 9.30pm.

The whole affair is self service so you simply rock up and rock out. There is often live music at the weekends in the bar upstairs if you are not up for it yourself. They also put on themed karaoke parties such as the X Factor Party for special occasions.

Of course Peadar Kearney’s has a fully stocked bar where the Guinness is great and the craic is mighty! If you fancy a bite to eat beforehand to settle the nerves then try the Toscana also on Dame Street. It is a superb Italian restaurant specialising in Tuscan and Mediterranean dishes and their early bird special is a snip at 17.95 Euros for two courses.

Beneath Copenhagen lie two sets of historical ruins. Under the Christiansborg Palace is the Bishop Absalon’s Castle and Copenhagen Castle. They were discovered again in 1902 and excavations revealed the true extent of the ruins underneath the palace. The ruins have been preserved and open to the public since 1924 and are great fun to explore.

The ruins of Bishop Absalon’s Castle date back to 1167 and stood for 200 years for which it was under constant attack. King Erik of Pomerania usurped the rights to the castle in 1417 and after it was known as Copenhagen Castle.

The ruins are open daily apart from Mondays from 10am – 5pm. The ruins cost 40 DKK for a normal ticket and 30 DKK for students. The fastest way to reach Christianborg Palace from Generator Hostel Copenhagen is to take the M1 or M2 metro lines to Kongens Nytorv st station.

For a bite to eat it is worth looking into the Café Sommersko on the Kronprinsensgade 6. They have a lovely brunch menu that is perfect for setting yourself up to delve into the Christianborg Palace Ruins.

If you are looking for a night of solid, no frills rock then head down to one of Copenhagen’s top venues and see 3 Doors Down at VEGA on 19th February. Formed in 1996 the band hit the big time with their first single “Kryptonite”. Since then they have never looked back and are now touring to support their fifth studio album “Time of My Life”.

3 Doors Down has performed live with such greats as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Megadeth, Staind and Nickelback and are no stranger to the stage, often performing more than 300 concerts a year. This time around they are supported by Seether a post-grunge, alternative metal band from South Africa.

To get to VEGA from Generator Hostel Copenhagen is easy by public transport. The show starts at 8pm so get there early to get the best position!

For a pre-concert dinner try the Ristorante San Giorgio on Rosenborggade, only a short walk from Norreport Station. They serve lovingly prepared Italian cuisine; with a cosy and friendly atmosphere and historic setting.

The classic Bournonville ballet “A Folk Tale” has undergone a reimagining at the hands of Nikolaj Hübbe. The story remains unchanged, it is still based on the old Danish myth, but this rendition takes the already dark tale and creates something truly grueling out of it.

The ballet is in essence a dark romantically infused fairytale; it is a tale of juxtaposition of mistaken identity and is as popular now as it has ever been.

The ball you’ve always dreamed of can now become a reality! The seventeenth-century impressive Villa Foscarini Rossi in Stra will recreate the atmosphere of the XVIII century Venice Carnival, as at the time of Foscarini Doge, when important guests were attending the balls and parties at the sumptuous Salone delle Feste. The magnificent setting in Riviera del Brenta, fruit of the works of famous architects and painters, was really popular between the rich Venetian families.

You can experience the same magic atmosphere, when real Venetian masks, jugglers, acrobats, musicians will be there, waiting for you with baroque musique in the background and plenty of candles illuminating the beautiful Ballroom.

Bella center will open its doors to the amazing Lego world the 16^th of February 2012. You will be able to se lot of beautiful things build in Lego, buildings, cars, animals etc.

Bring out your inner child, and have a day in Lego world, where you can be impressed and have a lot of fun. Lego World the amusement park, i located in Billund, Jytland. But now you have the changes to see the world of Lego in Copenhagen.

Did you know that to be stacked around 40 billion Lego bricks to reach the moon? Did you know that the number of Lego bricks sold in one year can reach more than 5 times around the earth, if they were put in line with each other.

The Lego began in the carpentry workshop of Ole Kirk Kristiansen in Billund, Denmark. In 1916, Kristiansen purchased a woodworking  shop in Billund which had been in business since 1895. The shop mostly helped construct houses and furniture, and had a small staff of apprentices. The workshop burned down in 1924 when a fire, lit by two of Kristiansen’s sons, ignited some wood shavings. Ole Kirk constructed a larger workshop, and worked towards expanding his business even further. When the Great Depression  hit, Ole Kirk had fewer customers and had to focus on smaller projects. He began producing miniature versions of his products as design aids. It was these miniature models of stepladders and ironing boards that inspired him to begin producing toys. Lego is today still own by the family. Today it is Ole Kirk Kristiansen’s  great grandson Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen

Established in 2003, The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (JDIFF) has fast become Ireland’s premiere feature film festival. The festival takes place in Ireland’s capital city over the course of 11 days and nights. JDIFF will present over 120 films from the four corners of the globe.

The festival is a citywide event that takes place in all of the Dublin City Centre Cinemas including Cineworld, The Savoy, Screen, Irish Film Institute and Light House Cinema in Smithfield (just across from Generator Hostel Dublin!). The majority of films shown at the film festival are Irish premieres, and for some of the films shown, the festival represents the only public screening that will take place in Ireland.

Report to Restaurant Admiral on Marlborough Street for some top quality cuisine. Have a look at the Monday to Friday lunch time happy hour and fill up on three courses for a reasonable 9.95 Euros.

For those feeling thirsty, the Stag’s Head on Dame Court does a great pint. Records of a public house on the site date back to 1770. Check out the well preserved Victorian interior.

Thanks to Dublin being named the location for the Euroscience Open Forum 2012 (ESOF) Dublin has also been named the City of Science 2012. This means that throughout 2012 there will be a series of events to get everyone involved in the ever changing world of science.

The events due to be scheduled include film festivals, art exhibitions and street performances. As the Euroscience Open Forum attracts some of the greatest scientific minds alive it seems only fitting that they get to the bottom of some big questions like: “what is the future of gaming?” and “why is Ireland so happy?“.

The Veolia Environnement Photographer of the Year exhibition is currently being held at the Natural History Museum in London and has an outstanding collection of photographs on display. The exhibition is comprised of 108 images, handpicked by experts from the competition which ran throughout 2011.The competition spans all age groups and any skill level.

Over 40,000 photographs were entered and with that number whittled down to just 108, the exhibition only showcases the most outstanding photographs. There are all manner of amazing images to be seen, from dramatic underwater scenes to awe inspiring landscapes.

This exhibition is a collection of personal and provoking images from our natural world. If you’re interested in wildlife or have a passion for photography then this is the exhibition for you. Arken

The Essence of Colour is a new exhibition at the Arken Museum for Modern Art. The exhibition is a collection of personal works created by Queen Margrethe II. The Queen is known as an expressive artist as well as being the Queen of Denmark. This exhibition consists of the Queen’s works concerning colour and its ability to convey fluctuating emotion through its subtle nuances.

The works range from meticulously constructed studies of colour to vast sweeping canvases that offer a personal and provocative insight into the human behind the brush. Her works were created on a purely personal level and this is reflected throughout the exhibition, there is no sense of wanting to be recognized as an artist but rather for her humanity to be recognized through her art.

The Arken Museum for Modern Art can be reached from the Generator Hostel Copenhagen by public transport. Make sure you get a chance to attend this thought provoking exhibition.

1. A visit to see the Cupid sculptures at the Thorvaldsen Museum is a must for any romantic couple. The museum is dedicated to the works of Bertel Thorvaldsen. Top it off with a heart shaped cake in the museum coffee shop.

The Hostelworld Hoscars celebrate their 10th anniversary in 2012 and this years awards ceremony was held in Hostelworlds birthplace Dublin.

The British, Berlin based artist Tacita Dean is the latest artist to be commissioned to produce an artwork for the turbine hall in the Tate Modern. FILM is the first part of Dean’s Unilever series of art works and is an 11 minute long 13m high, 35mm projection.

FILM is a celebration of the analogue film format and its history and historical importance as analogue is quickly supersede by the digital revolution.

The Tate Modern is free to enter and is open 10am to 6pm Sunday to Thursday and 10am to 10pm Friday and Saturday. The best way to reach the Tate Modern is by taking the Jubilee Line to the Southwark station and walking the short distance to the Tate.

Hinterm Horizon is the long running musical based on songs by the German rock musician Udo Lindenberg. Set in 1983 Hinterm Horizon follows the story of two young lovers separated by the Berlin Wall and their eventual reunion in Moscow in 2010; when everything from their previous lives has changed. The show is a riveting musical look at the strife and issues of Berlin’s divided history – all with a beat!

Hinterm Horizon is showing in the Stage Theater in the spectacular Potsdamer Platz area of Berlin. The show runs from Wednesday to Monday every week and starts at 7pm with matinees on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets range from 40 Euros.

All Time Low are one of America’s biggest pop-punk bands to emerge on the scene in recent years. They are currently on tour throughout the UK and one of the dates is at the famed Hammersmith Apollo.

The band was formed in Baltimore in 2003 and their brand of fast-paced and fizzy pop-punk reveals their early influences such as Blink 182 and Green Day. Their love of touring has given them a huge loyal fan base and as such many of their tour dates were sold out.

Coming in early February to the Tempodrom in Berlin is the German Masters Snooker Tournament. For five days you will be able to see 16 of the world’s best snooker players, 16 pros and six amateur “wild-cards” battling it out for the German Masters championship. Join an expected 14,000 spectators over the week to see who will beat the world’s snooker elite.

Tickets to the German Masters will cost between 16 and 42 Euros. Doors are open from 9am and the day’s snooker begins at 10am. The Tempodrom is located on Möckernstraße 10 and the fastest way to reach it is by taking the S1, 2 or 25 to the Anhalter Bahnhof station just one station south of the Potsdamer Platz.

Celebrate the art with The Dalí Universe Exhibition in Venice, a special exhibition dedicated to great artist Salvador Dalí, the Catalan master of surrealism, but also one of the greatest artists of 20th century.

The Museo Santa Apollonia in Venice is hosting this unique art exhibition from the 22nd of May 2011 and you still have the opportunity to enjoy more than 100 Dalí masterpieces on display.

Generator Hostels has opened the doors of its newest hostel in Hamburg on the 6th of January 2012, bringing the number of its locations across Europe to six.

Amazing Central Location

The 684-bed hostel is located in the Klockmann-House, where John, Paul, George and Ringo, also known as the Beatles, recorded nine songs in the 1960s.

It is centrally located right next to Hamburg’s main train station in the trendy district of St. George.

Event Dates: Until the 14th October 2012 

In Terminal Two in Dublin Airport there is currently an exhibition by photographer Kevin Abosch called Faces of Ireland. The exhibition features portraits of 250 people from around the 32 counties of Ireland. Some of the faces will be familiar public figures such as actors, singers or politicians but many are of normal people making up Irish society today.

The exhibition is showing in Terminal Two beyond the security gates so if you are travelling by plane chances are you will come across it. It will be running until the 14th October and is free to see if you have a plane ticket. A catalogue of the portraits is available from the airport with the proceeds going to Dublin Airport’s charity of the year.

Getting to the Generator Hostel Dublin from the Airport is quite easy using public transport.

Food a good meal once you have arrived in Dublin it is well worth checking out The Market Bar on 14 Fade Street. They have an excellent selection of tapas and wines housed within a dramatic yet intimate converted warehouse location.

The camp vampire comedic musical extravaganza Dance of the Vampires has come to the Theater des Westens in Berlin. Dance of the Vampires is a big budget musical following the story of the Roman Polanski film Fearless Vampire Killers. It follows the story of a professor and his bumbling sidekick who are investigating a sleepy village in the Alps where vampires supposedly exist.

The Dance of the Vampires plays every day from Tuesdays to Sundays starting at 7.30pm most days and plays twice on Saturdays, once at 2.30pm and again at 7.30pm. Tickets cost from 29.90 Euros upwards. The best way to reach the Theatre des Westens is by the U2, U9, S5, S7 or S9 to the station Zooligischer Garten.

The permanent exhibition on the Schwules Museum in Berlin traces the story of the gay community in Germany and with a focus on Berlin from the 1800’s until 1970. The exhibition takes us through the history of homosexuality in Germany and how it has influenced the arts and culture as well as showing the oppression, prejudice and punishment the gay community have been subjected to and the beginnings of the gay pride movement in Germany.

The Schwules Museum can be found on Mehringdamm 61 in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin. It is open daily (apart from Tuesdays) from 2pm to 6pm and on Saturdays until 7pm. Entrance costs 5 Euros and 3 Euros for students. The best way to reach the museum is by taking the U6 or U7 to Mehringdamm station.

For something to eat try Aki Tatsu Sushi on Bergmannstraße 93 just around the corner from the Schwules Museum. They serve a fine selection of sushi and other Japanese delicacies which adheres to their emphasis on freshness and quality.

James Morrison, the BRIT-award winning multi-million record selling singer-songwriter superstar, returns to Dublin on tour to promote his new album “The Awakening.”

The Chinese New Year falls on the 23rd January meaning the following weekend (29th January) Chinatown, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square will play host to a dazzling array of bright costumes as locals welcome in the year of the dragon. Amongst the performances and parades there are plenty of stalls selling food, treats and trinkets which are all well worth perusing.

There’s a great show of costumed acrobatics at Trafalgar Square as traditional dragon and lion dances are performed. The show is of course entirely free, although you may want to get there early to get a good view.

Why not go for a drink in The Pint itself? Built in 1768 on the banks of the River Liffey the building offers some unusual history. The ground floor was initially a chemist with a children’s morgue in the basement. The original bronze plate used by the doctor can still be seen by the downstairs basement. Beer and culture!

Feeling hungry? Then visit Le Bon Crubeen; a lovely little French restaurant on Talbot Street. Tuck in to quality food including bangers and mash and fish cakes. Ingredients are locally sourced and the food is good value for money.

The American blues-rock duo The Black Keys come to Berlin in late January to play their infective lo-fi rock music in the Berlin Arena. The Black Keys are touring to promote their new and critically acclaimed album “El Camino” which was released in December last year. The gig promises to be a truly memorable event in the 9,000 capacity Berlin Arena.

At the end of January thousands of people will descend onto the velodrome in the Friedrichshein district of Berlin for the annual Berlin Six Day Cycling Race. The week-long event promises to be a thrilling series of races which tests skills and abilities to the limit. On the Friday is a special late night event and on the Sunday is family day.

The Six Day Cycling Race is hosted by the Velodrome which can be reached by the Landsburger Allee S-Bahn station on the S41, 42 ring lines and the S8 line and is, in fact, just across the road from the Generator Hostel Berlin. Tickets cost 30 to 54 Euros per day and there is a 3 day saver ticket for 50 Euros from Sunday to Tuesday. It is open from 6pm weekdays and 10am on Sunday.

A short distance away from the Velodrome near Frankfurter Tor U-Bahn station is the Burgeramt on Krossenerstr. 22. They serve a fantastic variety of no nonsense burgers for a very reasonable price. They also have a very good selection of vegetarian burgers.

The Temple Bar TradFest is going to be the biggest and best festival.Part of the 2012 festival Dubliners will clebrate their 50th anniversary one of the most dependably entertaining stand-up comics in the land. Special guests will come to the celebration on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th of January.

The Temple Bar TradFest will taken place from 25th – 29th January and there are more than 200 free performances, Children’s entertainment, street theatre, concerts in the Button Factory, two free outdoor stages, cultural workshops and much more expected.

One Man, Two Guvnors is the new smash hit play from Richard Bean. James Cordon plays Francis, a man who has to keep his two bosses apart so that all their secrets remain hidden. One Man, Two Guvnors is set in 1960’s Brighton and features naughty British humour and a fantastic cast. It is one play not to be missed!

The best way to reach the Adelphi Theatre, on The Strand, from the Generator Hostel London is by taking the Bakerloo or Northern Line to Charing Cross underground station.

Berlin is full of weird and wonderful relics of by-gone eras, usually hidden away in some half-forgotten corner of the city. One such marvel is the Futuro house found on the banks of the River Spree. These odd UFO shaped, prefabricated houses are the product of the Finnish architect Matti Suuronen. Many of them were made throughout the late 60s and 70s but sadly due to rising oil prises they became too expensive to make.

Be aware that the Futuro house in Berlin currently has someone living there but it can be safely seen by taking a boat right down the River Spree or by going to Nalepastraße 10-50 in Treptow and taking a closer look there. The best way to reach it from Generator Hostel Berlin by public transport is by the Karlshorst station on the S3 line.

For a hearty meal after searching for Berlin’s hidden architecture try out Elsenstein on Elsenstr, 7-8 close to Treptow Park S-Bahn station. It serves a varied range of well made, classic German dishes all for a reasonable price.

For nine days at the end of January the ICC exhibition hall hosts a one of a kind trade show focusing on food, agriculture and horticulture and the various “green” or sustainable issues surrounding them. The International Green Week will be in its 77th year after beginning in 1926. Throughout the course of the event the hall will be filled with various exhibitions showing the opportunities of green living and production.

The International Green Week will be held in the ICC Convention Centre. It can be easily accessed by public transport on the S41/42 ring train at the station Westkreuz. A ticket for the whole fair costs 39 Euros while a ticket for just one day costs 12 Euros. Discounts are also available with student tickets costing 8 Euros per day. It is open daily from 10am until 6pm.

Brett Perkins Americana Aftener is a fresh monthly series showcasing Americana roots music. If you head to the Drop Inn you’ll find music with an Americana feel
with sprinklings of California country and folk vibes. It promises to be a great night for fans of Americana and those who want to try something a little different.

Feeling thirsty after your sing along session? Then head to Heidi’s Bier Bar at Vestergade where you’ll find nice people, nice staff, and a great selection cheap beer and booze. What more could you want?

For a pre-booze session try something civilised and head to Restaurant PUK at Vandkunsten. Restaurant PUK is situated in one of the oldest buildings in Copenhagen and one of a few which evaded being burned in the fire that ravaged Copenhagen in the 1800′s. Find tasty Danish food and sandwiches with large portions at reasonable prices.

Event Dates: 9th December 2011 – 10th June 2012 

Dickens is one of the defining figures of English literature, often cited as one of the first to observe the realities of living in Victorian London.

The collection shows the relationship the great writer had with the capital through costumes, photographs, paintings and objects. You’ll be treated to a story of Dickens’ life from childhood through to his inspection of some of the most pressing questions of the 19th Century regarding poverty, morality and capitalism.

There will also be original manuscripts of Bleak House and David Copperfield on show, offering further insight into Dickens’ work and process.

The Dickens and London exhibition is very popular, with timed tickets ensuring everyone receives the same quality visit to the Museum of London.

Built in 1963 this newly renovated office building is conveniently located only a 5 minute walk from two of the main metro stations ‘Diagonal’, with a maze of small streets, with local shops, bars and restaurants. Travelling to and from the many tourists attractions is really quick and easy.

Rooms Options

The vibrant Barcelona hostel has 163 rooms (705 total beds). All rooms provide the re-known mod cons the budget traveller is used to from all other European Generator Hostel properties. Room sizes range from modern twin/double rooms, over 4 beds to 8 beds dorms.

The pink female-only dorms are equipped with girly necessities such as hair dryers, large mirrors, relaxing area, and gossip magazines.

As new Generator Hostel standard all bunk beds are equipped with individual LED lights, USB port, storage lockers, and power sockets. All rooms are en-suite with additional shower facilities on each floor.

Guided Tours of London 2012 are being run daily and take in some of the most important areas for the coming games. The Ecological Hotdog in Copenhagen is a hotdog stand with a difference. It aims to sell healthy, ecologically sustainable as well as very tasty hotdogs. The stand was started by university graduates who noticed the waning appeal of the traditional hotdog stand and put it down to low quality food and decided to reinvent the concept for the 21st century. The results of this are well worth tasting for yourself on your trip to Copenhagen.

The Ecological Hotdog is open from Monday to Friday from 11.30am until 6pm and on Saturdays from 11am until 5pm. It can be found at the Rundetaarn on Købmagergade 52A and the best way to reach it is by taking the Nørreport St metro on the M1 and M2 lines. Alternatively, you could walk from the Generator Hostel Copenhagen as it is only about 10 minutes away.

London International Mime Festival was founded by producer, Joseph Seelig, and mime/clown, Nola Rae. Based on the Gaukler Festival in Cologne and the Festival of Fools in Amsterdam the festival first took place in London in 1977 and has been growing in scope and creativity ever since.

Live Art, Physical Theatre, Circus, Puppetry and Object Theatre are central to each year’s festival. It really is a must do event for anyone interested in the performing arts and features artists from all over the world as they come together to celebrate the genre in spectacular fashion.

If you’re in Copenhagen then jazz is unavoidable, but to find the real cream of the crop you’re unlikely to find much better than those playing at Charlie Scott’s at the weekend. Charlie’s is a cosy bar with an excellent atmosphere for those who love jazz.

Thursday nights usually kick off at 5pm and go on until 8.30pm. Friday’s usually start much later, around 10pm and go on past midnight – perfect for night-owls!

If you’re after a relaxed dinner and cocktail experience then Cafe Sari may be perfect for you with its cosy, low-lit atmosphere. For a few beers, some bar snacks then Denglade Gris is a great place to stop by.

Those wanting to head out after Charlie’s should probably head to NASA nightclub where you’ll be blown away by the space-age decor.

Backbeat, Iain Softley’s story of the fab four really “becoming” The Beatles, comes to the Duke of York Theatre.

The show focuses on the triangular relationship between the original Beatles bassist Stuart Sutcliffe, Astrid Kircherr (the woman he fell in love with) and John Lennon and the path The Beatles took from Liverpool to Hamburg and beyond! This isn’t a rose-tinted glance at the beginning of the biggest band of all time, but a driven and dramatic story of conflict on and off the stage – and as such, not one to be missed!

The show features classics like ‘Twist and Shout‘, ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Music‘, ‘Long Tall Sally‘, ‘and ‘Money‘ all performed live.

Event Dates: English language tours Thursday – Monday 

The history behind the Berlin skyline may be iconic and well known, but there is a whole other unseen world to be explored underground. The Underground Walking Tour is a walking tour that begins in the Gesundbrunnen U-bahn station and takes you through little seen air raid shelters and bunkers used in the 2nd World War and even the dominating flak tower perched on a nearby hill.

Tours take place at 11am and 1pm every day apart from Tuesday and Wednesday and cost 10 Euros per person. They begin from just outside the Gesundbrunnen U and S Bahn station which is easily accessible on the S41/42 ring train or by the U8 U-bahn line. It is located on Brunnenstraße 105 and the tour runs for approximately 90 minutes.

A short walk away from the Gesundbrunnen is the Offside Pub and Whisky Bar on Jülicher Straße 4. The Offside Pub has a varied and substantial collection of whiskeys and a very open and friendly atmosphere. It’s a great place to unwind and talk about the tour.

• A minimum of 2 to 3 years experience at an Front Office Manager level within a busy and large hotel or hostel.

Event Dates: 17th September 2011 – 19th February 2012 

In this “The Human Comedy” exhibition, visitors gain insight into the deep fascination Toulouse-Lautrec had with modern city life, and the way he presented it on the page.

The Statens Museum for Kunst presents Toulouse-Lautrec’s love of the characters which appeared in the city streets of Paris in the 1890′s such as the bohemian, the letch and the prostitute. Presenting these colourful characters with humour, exaggeration and irony the exhibition explored contributions to illustration and advertising through his posters and illustration works.

The Statens Museum for Kunst is only a few minutes pleasant walk from Generator Hostel Copenhagen.
