The Danish National Gallery exhibiting 700 years of Western art and cultural history Copenhagen’s National Gallery of Denmark will play host to a series of exceptional exhibitions this spring and summer.
Selected from the Royal Collection of Graphic Art, the woodcuts showcase medieval art as it was being changed by the Renaissance.

As well as showcasing some of the world’s finest woodcuts, the Durer exhibition will explain the woodcut technique and why it was so popular during the middle ages. Once the Durer exhibition has been wound up, the National Gallery of Denmark will provide the backdrop for the breathtaking Lautrec retrospective, which opens on September 17th 2011 and runs until February 19th 2012.
The wide range of works on display will include a number of Lautrec’s iconic prints – which are usually housed at the gallery’s Department of Graphic Arts.
