Enjoy walking in a winter wonderland

With the nights getting longer and the temperature dropping, winter is well and truly arriving, and what better way to celebrate the season than visiting the Winter World at the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin.

Every year from November 1st to January 4th the area is transformed into a magical and inviting wonderland where people can try sledging and skating right in the heart of Germany's capital.

There is also a toboggan run featuring views of the famous Brandenburg Gate and an ice-rink surrounded by many of the city's famous landmarks.

With carousels, concerts, street entertainment and a Christmas market there is bound to be something here that everyone can enjoy.

Plus the whole area is lit with thousands of fairy lights, adding a real touch of winter magic to the scene.

As well as the Brandenburg Gate, some of the other famous landmarks that can be enjoyed in the city are the Reichstag with its famous glass dome roof and the 368-meter high telecommunications tower.
