Head to Berlin for an African cinema experience

If you’re a movie buff and are planning a trip to Berlin in the coming months, you may want to book your flights or trains so your arrival in the city coincides with this year’s Black International Cinema Festival.

Held every year in the capital, the 2010 event is taking place at the Schoneberg Town Hall between May 4th and 8th and will be showing a range of films relating to African culture.

This is the 25th anniversary of the festival and academic and artistic events will also be taking place alongside the screenings.

The full range of films that will be on offer has yet to be announced, but if last year’s programme is anything to go by then attendees will be spoilt for choice, as over 50 films were shown in 2009.

On June 1st-30th, the same venue will also host a photo exhibition continuing the theme.
