Visitors to Berlin who are looking to learn more about the history of the German capital may wish to consider paying a visit to the site of the former SS headquarters.
Located between Niederkirchnerstrasse (formerly Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse), Wilhelmstrasse and Anhalter Strasse, the site is now home to an outdoor museum focusing on the crimes committed by the Nazis during the second world war.
Known as the Topography of Terror, the location features a number of exhibitions, including an open air display that includes a preserved section of the Berlin Wall.
Guided tours can be arranged for the site, which first opened in 1987 and has been on permanent display for over 11 years.
While in the city, those wishing to learn more about the national socialist regime may wish to visit the Holocaust Memorial, which consists of 2,711 grey stone slabs laid in memoriam of the Jews killed during World War II.
