See in the New Year at Brandenburg Gate

The Brandenburg Gate is one of Berlin’s most famous landmarks and also an excellent place for people travelling to Berlin over the festive season to welcome in the New Year.

There is a spectacular annual fireworks display with live performances plus international artists and DJs designed to entertain the many people who attend the event every December.

The event usually finishes around 2am. People usually then retreat back to their hostels on to Berlin’s many clubs and bars to continue the New Year celebrations.

The Brandenburg Gate is a historic landmark in Germany as it once separated East and West Berlin. It has now become a focal point for New Year celebrations with over five million people welcoming in the millennium there.

Since the first event in 1995, New Year at the gate has become the world’s largest open-air celebration of its kind.
