MaerzMusik is a Festival of Contemporary Music in Berlin and takes place from 19th March to 28th March 2010.
This annual event takes over several venues in Germany’s capital to offer audiences a wide range of contemporary music shows.
This year’s festival will be opened with a rendition of Salvatore Sciarrino’s two-act opera Luci mie traditrici at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg Platz on the evening of March 19th and will be performed three times in the following days.
There will be a range of productions as well as a number of discussion sessions with artists and composers from around the world.
The program of MaerzMusik 2010 presents a selection of new works, which in large part are related to the issues of utopia, memory and death.
There will be World premieres by Klaus Huber, Salvatore Sciarrino, Thomas Kessler, Olga Neuwirth, Beat Furrer, Mela Meierhans, Isabel Mundry, Johannes Schöllhorn, Lucia Ronchetti, James Clarke.
